VOC emission control technologies

Regenerative Thermal Oxidation – RTO

The exhaust gas passes through a ceramic heat-storage bed into the oxidation chamber, where volatile organic compounds are oxidized.

Regenerative Catalytic Oxidation – RCO

A catalyst enables volatile organic compounds to be oxidized at lower temperatures.

Recuperative Thermal Oxidation

A fan conveys the exhaust air into the unit, where it is first preheated in a recuperative heat exchanger.

Recuperative Catalytic Oxidation

The exhaust air is preheated to the oxidation temperature in a heat exchanger. Thanks to the catalyst, this temperature is lower than in thermal oxidation.

Direct-Fired Thermal Oxidation – DFTO

Exhaust gas containing high pollutant concentrations is fed directly into the oxidation chamber. With the correct residence time and oxidation temperature, hazardous substances are converted into harmless products.

Zeolite Rotary Concentrator

The exhaust air passes through a rotor where VOCs are first adsorbed onto a hydrophobic zeolite adsorbent and then desorbed into a small stream of heated air.

Activated Carbon Adsorber

For large air volumes with low VOC concentrations, a fixed-bed activated carbon adsorber is an effective solution. The exhaust air passes through the activated carbon bed, where the VOCs are adsorbed.
